Whit a wood-fired barbecue, you will need to dedicate a little more time to lighting it and waiting until the coals are ready to start cooking.
A gas barbecue does not produce smoke when lit, and during cooking, th fat drips onto the diffusers (burner guards) located directly above the burners. Excess fat is collected in a tray below the burners. In constrast, wit a wood barbecue, there will always be some smoke, and when you light it, you will have to clean thea ashes in addition to the waiting time until it reaches the necessary temperature and embers.
Stainless steel barbecue with 5 burners and many cooking options
Controlling the heat is very simple and is done via the knobs that control each burner. This allows you to adjust the heat according to the food being cooked. The temperature reaches up to 250-300º, like a kitchen oven. Once it reaches that temperature, it is easy to maintain a constant temperature, which is very useful for cooking certain dishes. Most gas models include a thermometer to precisely monitor the temperature at any given time. On a wood-fire barbecue, temperature control is intuitive, and they typically do not have a lid that functions as an oven.
Gas barbecues, of curse, also allow for different types of cooking. You can prepare everything from a classic barbecue to more elaborate recipes. Thanks to its lid, it transforms into an oven, multiplying your options for cooking healthy dishes (and desserts too). some models include griddles and specific accessories for pizzas, stir-fries, and whole chickens.
There is no ash, and it is easy to clean. Grease that drips into the drip tray or cooking area can be wiped away occasionally, depending on usage. You can also clean it using pyrolysis (heating the cooking area with the lid closed for about 15 minutes) to burn off any residue from previous barbecues and simply remove it once it cools. Many of the moving parts, such as the racks, griddles and diffusers are dishwasher safe.
